Description Designs clothing and accessories for men, women, and children. Uses fashion trends, fabric choices, personal interests, taste, and knowledge of design to create new fashions and designs. Makes fashion news by establishing the "line," colours, and kinds of materials that will be worn each season. Sketches designs and specifies colour and fabrics. May make patterns and models of garments. May use computers to assist with the design process. Understands and applies the principles and techniques of General learning ability design to create clothing and accessories for men, women and children. Visualizes the final appearance of fashions. Spatial perception Writes specifications for garments and accessories describing Form perception construction, colour schemes and types of materials. Uses drawing instruments to sketch designs for producing Motor coordination garments and accessories, and draw patterns to scale from Finger dexterity sketched designs. Synthesizes information to create designs for clothing, textiles Innovative interest and accessories. Works with precision with equipment to prepare patterns for Methodical interest manufacture of garments and accessories; and records garment specifications on sketches, fits partially completed garments on customers and models, and marks alterations necessary to achieve correct fit. Speaks with customers to advise them on fabrics, styles, Directive interest colours, current fashion trends and suitability of designs.
