My Thoughts On: Fashion |

Originally published on August 9, 2006, 1503hrs (UTC-6) Oh boy, do I have a story for all of you. While I totally agree with people being allowed to wear whatever they want (and not getting into the issue of whether fashion even has a point or purpose), I have come across some pretty profound exceptions. First of all, obscene comments or pictures - protect the innocence of children (or whatever innocence they have left in this day and age) and just wear this at home if you really feel you need to! Second: for the ladies (and possibly them men), cleavage. Keep this for your lovers/partners, cuz I'm really not interested in that. Third: pre-worn clothing. I'm sorry, but who really wants to look like a hobo Doesn't it make you cringe when people pity you for not being able to afford nice clothes Cuz that's what they're thinking! Fourth: any clothing that is too small. While you may be able to brag about fitting into a size six, everyone around you knows that it's not your REAL size. By squeezing into these articles of clothing, you're emphasizing even more all those things that likely you're embarrassed about. Maybe not! But probably yes. Fifth: my final beef, and the one that I have a story for: the hanging butt crack. I can look the other way if it's covered by your underwear and maybe your pants just slipped a little when you were sitting down (many guys are like this: the pants are halfway down your butt, but the boxers are still there, so no HUGE problem...). But when it transitions to bare skin, I just have to draw a line. Same with the cleavage: save it for your significant others! This girl sitting in front of me on the busride home today is my story. I had no problem with the two high-school age teenagers before me until they got up to get off the bus. And there it was. A sight I didn't expect that caught me off guard. Not low-rise pants, but high-rise butt cheeks (ok, that joke didn't work out so well...I'm trying too hard). Anyway, her butt was inches away from my face. And I was disturbed. Very disturbed. To top it off, she was wearing a thong. So I'm thinking, I respect your right to choose your articles of clothing, but this is bordering on indecent exposure. Your right to freedom of fashion just does NOT supersede my right to not having a butt in my face in public. Why Why would you wear this There is nothing fashionable about that choice of dress!! You can be perfectly trendy (if you feel you need to) without resorting to exposing private areas of your body! *cringe* 查看完整文章:http://lornachristine.spaces.live.com/Blog/cns!792BEC0CF32B5A68!603.entry live.com 作者: 老 鬼 來源: 天上人間 |
